I have taken 1Cover several times while travelling. I have just travelled to Hawaii with a friend who became ill and required hospital treatment.

They stayed in constant contact with me throughout the experience of having to be taken to hospital which was a little scary when you're away from home. The only thing I would say is that you had to explain the situation to various different people so it may pay for the first person you talk to via email to make some notes for the next. But this was a very easy and caring company to deal with in the midst of a bad situation. They even phoned me when back in NZ to see how I was feeling, a nice touch.

It was a simple and straightforward exercise to purchase 1Cover travel insurance online and we felt very confident with the policy cover. My husband has an existing medical condition and it was no trouble to cover for this for very little extra cost. This is the second time we have purchased travel insurance with this company and we will certainly do so again for our next trip away.

Recently I had an injury while in Australia. I contacted 1Cover and immediately they were there to support me through the whole process, including a phone call on my arrival home to see how the I was after my flights. In my dealings with this company I have always found their service to be extremely professional and reliable. Additionally their premiums are, in my experience, extremely competitive and great value for money. Unfortunately circumstances required me to make a claim on the very first occasion I used this firm and I'm pleased to say they settled my claim extremely quickly, efficiently and without contesting unnecessarily the validity of the claim. While i didn't appreciate the constant reminder to take out any policy, It was in fact rather annoying. I didn't need to make a claim against the policy. What was a favorable point was the companies attitude. I am a senior (well over 70 years old) but I am not computer savvy. The check sheet to determine the level of risk was satisfactory to me personally. But some may object to the questions. Insurance companies like to minimise their rick factor. My travel companion is 20 years younger and had a similar policy as mine with a different company. At half the cost of my policy. That is something the industry needs to look at. Remember the population is ageing in chronological years but are usually competent health wise. Especially those who travel regularly

Such an easy process to get peace of mind travel insurance. I had a pre existing condition and compared to other companies ( who asked identical questions ) the premium loading was less and the cover better. I would not hesitate to use 1Cover for further travel insurance. The communication from the company also exceeded expectations.
