Prompt support when unexpected happened. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have it when I got robbed.
Had to make a claim when my wife took ill & had to visit a doctor in the USA. Put a claim in back home ... accepted and paid within two weeks.
First time I've had to make a claim. Speed of process was quite unbelievable.
Travel is unpredictable and travel insurance is there to help provide you peace of mind that when the unexpected happens, we'll be there to help out. No. If you're intoxicated, taking drugs (that haven't been prescribed) and your claim results from these actions, then you're not covered.
If you have purchased Comprehensive, Essentials, Medical Only, Frequent Traveller, or Already Overseas, cover is available for your medical transfer or evacuation if you must be transported to the nearest hospital for emergency medical treatment overseas, or be brought back to New Zealand with appropriate medical supervision.
Cover is also available under these Plans for the return to New Zealand of your Dependants if they are left without supervision following your hospitalisation or evacuation.
All expenses for medical evacuation must first be approved by 1Cover. This only applies to the Plans listed above, as there is no cover for medical/hospital expenses or repatriation under Domestic plans. If you are travelling on a cruise, you must have the Cruise Pack in order to be covered for medical treatment, transfer or evacuation.
All countries have travel advice levels and you always check these prior to travelling. If a government or other official body have issued a specific "Do Not Travel" or "Reconsider your need to travel" warning and you go, you will not be covered. For more information, please see Safetravel.govt.nz

You may extend your cover free of charge if you find that your return to New Zealand has been delayed because of one or more of the following:
a) a busline, airline, shipping line or rail authority you are travelling on, or that has accepted your fare or luggage and personal effects, is delayed;
b) the delay is due to a reason for which you can claim under your policy (subject to 1cover approval). Please refer to the Policy Wording for further information.
Your policy covers the full duration of your trip as stated on your Certificate of Insurance. There are no refunds should you go home earlier than planned.
