I have an annual multi trip policy which I found to be excellent value for money. I recently had to make a claim relating to damage to a rental vehicle. The the online claims system was very good and the team had assesses my claim and paid out within 48 hours. Have had nothing but good experiences with 1 Cover.

I've never made a claim from any travel insurance company. Also I don't carry anything of value which I couldn't afford to lose.. But that's not the real point. Because things can change suddenly. So I buy insurance for peace of mind especially if I require medical assistance. So I don't want an insurance company who scrunts their way through any potential preexisting condition with a view to avoid a claim if something goes astray. Everyone carries a medical risk whether they know it or not. And no Kiwi ever goes on holiday deliberately to get unwell or get an intervention. It's all free here anyhow. So this is why I always choose 1cover insurance. No fuss. No frills. Reasonable exclusions. And reasonable pricing.

Would have given a 10 for claim response had I not found the online claim process a little clunky and slow. In other respects very good with helpful advice by phone and a very quick claim approval.

We took insurance because of my Artrial fibrillation. When my wife fell down the stairs and badly broke her right femur it was all. One phone call to 1Cover Insurance and at a moment everything was taken off my shoulders. After my wife Lorna's operation and release from hospital their planning to get us home on a flight to New Zealand was absolutely first class from everyone who contacted us. We were flown business class because of the nature of my wife's injury. Thank you thank you and thank you again No.1 Insurance. Brilliant.

We have insured with 1Cover many times and the process online is always simple, even for the need of extra cover (eg camera equipment) or existing medical conditions.
We have only needed to claim once, and that was quickly and efficiently carried out. The claim was made several months after our travel, when an unexpected bill was sent through from our overseas destination. There was no issue with the lateness of the claim, and this took away the stress of a rather large potential expense that would have left a "bad taste" about the holiday.

I had initially only planned to be in Japan for my holiday but the opportunity arose for me to travel to South Korea. I had not put this on my initial policy. The night before flying i contacted 1Cover and was extremely surprised at how accommodating they were and especially at no extra cost. While on a cruise ship, I identified a melanoma, which needed immediate excision and histology. 1Cover was very prompt in providing the go-ahead, in following up progress, and in settling the claim. Excellent!

we had a quote with our tickets, it wasn't a bad price I thought for two adults. But 1Cover came up on my FB feed and I thought I would compare. Identical levels of cover (only I could opt for a lower excess) and the price was half the quote from our agent. It was a no brainer, online reviews supported 1cover as a great option.

I can't speak highly enough of my recent claim experience with 1Cover Travel Insurance. It was quick and easy to make the claim on line. Within the same day of making the claims, the claims were settled. The assessment was very fair and without any followup required. Our word was accepted without question. This experience served as a reminder that keeping records of ownership of personal property is very important.

The start of the claim process is the worst bit. I was in hospital and the doctor said I needed this operation. I got 1Cover on the phone and they went through the process, but they tell you they are going to get your medical records from your GP and let you know. That's when you hit panic mode! Thinking did I tell them everything, did I miss something, what if they don't approve this, what will i do. Quite stressful actually. Fortunately they got on to it quickly and had my approval in a short time, from there on everything went very smoothly and I was extremely relieved to have 1Cover! I will certainly use them next time.
