What If I need to extend my single trip policy?

Extension because you're staying away longer: if you need to extend before your policy has ended because you are staying away longer, we do offer policy extensions, where applicable, but you will need to pay for this. 

You can apply to extend your policy by either getting in contact with our friendly call centre team or alternatively you can log in to our Policy Manager.

We advise that you log in to the Policy Manager or contact us as soon as you know you need to extend your policy (ideally 7 days (NZST) before your policy is due to expire), so that we can make sure your extension is guaranteed. Once a policy lapses we are unable to extend it.

Extension because of a delay: you may extend your cover free of charge if you find that your return to New Zealand has been delayed because of one or more of the following:

  1. A busline, airline, shipping line or rail authority you are travelling on, or that has accepted your fare or luggage and personal effects, is delayed
     
  2. The delay is due to a reason for which you can claim under your policy (subject to 1Cover approval). Please refer to the PDS for further information.
