How does annual travel insurance work?

If you travel more than once a year, whether it be for pleasure or business, you might consider one of our Frequent Traveller policies. This multi-trip annual policy provides travel insurance cover for one whole year, for as many trips as you like.

Our annual Frequent Traveller insurance policies have the same benefits as our single-trip comprehensive policies, and you can choose an international overseas or domestic policy option.

There are two options, based on the maximum length of any one single trip. Find out what your options are here.

If you travel often both overseas and within New Zealand you only need to take out an overseas policy option to be covered internationally and domestically. (A domestic trip is classified as one that is 100km away from your home address).

Please note that if you take out a Frequent Traveller overseas policy but you travel domestically, the benefits for domestic travel will be as per our Domestic Travel Insurance. This means there is no cover for medical expenses while in New Zealand. Please see full details of our Domestic Travel Insurance in the Policy Wording.

Please choose your Frequent Traveller policy carefully. Once a policy starts we are unable to increase the single trip duration beyond what is stated on your certificate of insurance.
